Curriculum Development and School-based Projects
We work closely with teachers, schools and educational organizations to integrate global citizenship education in the curriculum. Our resources include teaching kits, CD-ROMs, videos, etc., which are designed to help teachers bring global citizenship education into the classroom. These materials cover issues such as income distribution, food security, international trade, disasters, wars and conflicts. In addition, we also work with schools and educational institutions to develop global citizenship school-based projects.

Youth Power: Oxfam Club Following the spirit of “Opening our eyes to the world and showing concern for poverty”, the Oxfam Club was started in 1997. As a youth leadership training programme for secondary school students, the club organizes overseas visits, camps, workshops, sharing and small group learning to help students explore issues related to poverty, and to promote their independent and critical thinking ability. The club also encourages students to respond through action by organizing community and school events that help the public learn about poverty and sustainable development.
Please encourage young people around you to join Oxfam Club:

Since 2001, Oxfam Hong Kong has been supporting development education and global citizenship initiatives in China . In Guangzhou and Shanghai , we work with educational institutions, teachers and youth workers in promoting the concern for poverty and development issues among social organizations and schools. We hope that our efforts will help the young people in these cities gain awareness of global citizenship and build a community that cares about and acts on global development issues. Our work includes organizing student visits to poor areas or overseas, publication of research reports and educational materials, sponsoring youth conferences and exchanges between youth in Mainland China and Hong Kong or other countries, and similar exchanges between teachers in these areas.
